I’m a Florida native, born in Tampa and raised in Sebring. My family history dates back to the pioneer days, with me being a sixth-generation Floridian. Back in those early days, the men hunted wild cows with the use of whips and were known as Cracker Cowboys. In fact, the original American cowboy was born in the Florida wilderness, long before western cowboys existed.
My dad would take me out in an old John boat when I was only 7 months old. One of my parents’ favorite family stories is from when I was a toddler. One day, I caught a fish and decided that I didn’t want to let it go. I literally refused to let anyone take it out of my hands, so my mom gave me a plastic bag to put the fish into. I carried that bagged fish around until I finally fell asleep.
Over the years, my love for the Florida swamps, lakes, and rivers created a passion in me for bass fishing. Along with that passion, grew my fascination with plastic worms and other baits. This eventually led me to the hobby of plastic bait making. I recently decided to sell my baits to the public, and Cracker Baits was born.
